Los Angeles – In celebration of its fifth anniversary, the Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) is proud to announce the naming of Jim Caple as Honorary Chairman for the organization.
Jim Caple is a senior writer for ESPN.com based out of Seattle. He has written regularly about baseball since 1988, including five seasons as the Minnesota Twins beat writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He has been a national baseball columnist for ESPN.com since the mid-90s. In addition to 19 World Series and visiting every big league stadium, he has also covered baseball in countries ranging from Germany to China. His favorite baseball movie is “Bull Durham,” his favorite baseball book is “Ball Four” and his favorite baseball song is “Centerfield.”
Caple will announce the results of each IBWAA election via social media and generally champion the group’s efforts during a one-year term. His successor will be announced July 4, 2015.
